Pitched high on the peripheries of Derby, Tasmania, this holiday house sits on a challenging, steeping sloping site backing onto bushland, with sweeping views across Derby township and beyond.

With a Bushfire Attack Level of BAL-FZ, landslip and erosion overlays as well as vegetation protection shaping the constraints, careful planning and design were key to making the most of the site.

The result, a 3-bedroom holiday home centred around a family’s passion for mountain biking, with a generous north-eastern deck framing views towards the famous Return to Sender mountain bike trail and township below.
